I hate this damn thing with a passion. The city of Manhattan installed a round-a-bout on Anderson Ave. for god knows why. It was constructed at the end of my freshman year and when I got back to school for my sophomore year it was there. Let's get this straight I live in Kansas City and there is a couple of round-a-bouts and I have driven on it a couple of times, but its not a hard concept to grasp...at least for us city folk.
When you approach the round-a-bout there is a yield sign. I swear to you everyone stops even at 2 in the morning the person ahead of me will stop. I curse, yell, and bang on my steering wheel. Here's how a round-a-bout works, look and go and IF there is a car coming your way stop. The bigger question is, it's been there for a god damn year and people still do not know how to use it. Funny thing about the round-a-bout though is the big pedestal with nothing on it sitting in the middle of it with rods coming through the top of it. Even if there was a statue atop of the block, people driving would not be able to see it because of 2 things: the pedestal is too high and secondly that round-a-bout is a dangerous place, so you better be looking out for the confused country folk.
